RVSM airspace is any airspace or route between flight level (FL) 290 and FL 410 inclusive where aircraft are separated vertically by 1,000 feet. The RVSM program enables vertical separation to be reduced from 2,000 ft. to 1,000 ft, making six additional flight levels available for operations between FL 290-410.
